Course Programme

The opportunities for development and operational areas at Miele are as varied as the people who join us.

With Master@Miele you can pursue your next level of education on a part time or full time basis. We will "structure" the assignments within our company around the respective phases of your studies. To this extent, you only need to decide what type of position you would like to take on within Miele, or if you would like to take advantage of the opportunity of recurring on-the-job-phases (e.g. during the semester vacations of your study programme).

In order to make your entry at Miele as successful as possible, you will get to know all aspects of us. Off-the job measures will include visits to selected factories, participation in technical lectures and exclusive events, and if possible you will experience Miele abroad.

A personal mentor will support you and also help you in building your personal network within Miele.

Your Qualifications

For the Master@Miele we are looking for committed graduates with a Bachelor degree in Engineering, specialising in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and other related fields who want to develop themselves professionally.

As an applicant for one of the Master@Miele positions you should bring above average study results, have some work experience from an internship and/or a practical semester, and the ability to communicate well in English. A course of studies at the master's level is part of this, of course, which you will pursue with a technical specialisation.

And if you also stand out with an excellent analytical thinking capacity, the ability to work as part of a team, and have a good amount of assertiveness, nothing will stand in the way of getting personally acquainted. Unless you do not submit an application.

Course Programme

You will be introduced to your responsibilities as junior sales representative over the course of one year with varied and challenging experiential assignments. To begin with, you will become intimately familiar with the structures and processes of the sales and service centre to which you are predominantly assigned to. There you will take on a supervised project assignment in the office and in the field. The third phase of your entry level programme is the collaboration in diverse central and marketing functions.

The knowledge and skills you acquire during these assignments is the best foundation for a subsequent assignment with one of our trade partners, where you will get to know the Miele brand directly at the point of sale and experience the contact with discerning customers first hand.

Once you have acquired numerous competences in this manner for your future position as a Miele junior sales representative, your entry level programme will conclude with the introduction to your specific area of responsibility. During the entire programme we will support you with diverse professional development initiatives and a personal mentor.

When transitioning from academic studies to professional life, a trainee programme is the ideal career entry for those who wish to experience a variety of business areas on-the-job, local and abroad.

These are not standard programmes. Every assignment plan is customised to your individual skills and abilities. Thus, we will do justice to your study major and your aptitude as well as our needs and requirements.

You design your personalised trainee program yourself. This is done in close cooperation with human resource development, which will provide you help and advice during your trainee period and accompanies you throughout the programme.

Course Programme

Our trainee programme is essentially divided into training-on-the-job and training-off-the-job.

Training-on-the-job means that you, as a trainee, actively participate in numerous technical areas and thereby learn and experience everything that happens in the company, the market conditions, the corporate structure and the interdisciplinary relationships. In addition, obligatory components of each trainee programme are assignments in our sales and service centres throughout Germany as well as a several week long assignment in one of our worldwide sales organisations.

Alongside your technical training during the trainee period, you will also gain interdisciplinary qualifications through your off-the-job training. The topics range from work organisation/time management, presentation/visualisation via speech and communication training to qualification for support of personal development.

A visit to our production locations as well as informational events on technical areas, to which you will not be assigned, round out the off-the-job training.

During your year as a trainee, you will be assigned a company-relevant project task that you will complete independently or in a team during the duration of the trainee programme. It requires flexibility and a high level of commitment to master this challenge in addition to the on-the-job assignments. This will give you an opportunity to immediately implement and apply the instruments and methods you learned during off-the-job training.

Your Qualifications

Our training programme, which as a rule lasts 12 months, is primarily directed at college graduates with the following subject areas: Economic sciences (study majors depending on the orientation of the specific trainee programme), industrial engineering, engineering majors of diverse subject areas (predominantly mechanical engineering or electrical engineering), international management degrees, information studies.

You have completed your Master's degree with good to very good results and already gained some work experience in the form of vocational training or corresponding internships. Knowledge of English and international experience are as much a requirement as a high level of commitment and flexibility. And if you also convince us with your personal presence, you will have a good chance of beginning a trainee programme with us.

Our three-year entry programme for "technical assistant for plant management" offers you the ideal foundation for a perfect beginning of your career.

As technical assistant for plant management you will support the manager of a Miele plant in his strategic, conceptual and operational responsibilities in a staff function.

You would like to become acquainted with the organisation, processes, culture and leadership of Miele within a three year time frame? Through an intense orientation in "your" Miele plant, the participation in diverse projects and additional support, you will be prepared to take on attractive medium-term leadership responsibilities through speciality and cross-speciality training initiatives. One year after joining us as a technical assistant, you will be individually responsible for challenging tasks as a project leader, e.g. in the production area or in our developmental areas.
